OUR PROJECTS

The Friends provide financial support to the park in order to support projects critical to maintaining a healthy park ecosystem. Such project investments include:

SEA TURTLE PROGRAM

The Friends provide assistance to the park's sea turtle program through the purchase of equipment like all-terrain beach vehicles and tablets to make data collection easier.

INTERPRETIVE PANELS

We fund the printing and materials needed to install educational panels throughout the seven parks.

PARK EQUIPMENT

The Friends provide funding for equipment like a wood chipper that has been used to clear several miles of overgrown trails, re-opening trails to the public once again.

ARCHAEOLOGICAL

FIELD STUDIES

We have provided funding for University of North Florida professor Keith Ashley and his team of students to conduct archaeological surveys on Big Talbot Island

PARK STAFF DEVELOPMENT

We provide funding for park staff to attend specialized training and conferences, including prescribed fire training.
